Preparation before starting work
Installation and connection of the device must be carried out by specialists with relevant experience.
Install batteries into the remote control.
Connect the air conditioner to the power supply through a socket of the required rating, with grounding.
Make sure there are no obstructions to air movement around the outdoor and indoor units.

Selecting operating modes
The Daikin FTX20JV/RX20JV air conditioner model supports the following operating modes:
autoselect;
heating;
cooling;
drainage;
ventilation.
In auto selection mode, the air conditioner maintains the temperature within the limits you specify. If it gets colder, heating turns on, if it gets warmer, cooling turns on.
The heating mode is suitable for cool seasons. Keep in mind that in this mode the external unit may freeze, so operation will be paused periodically (no more than 10 minutes) to defrost the external unit. In addition, the fan may not start immediately after pressing a button on the remote control. This is how protection against cold air blowing works - first the heat exchanger warms up, and only then the fan turns on.
In cooling mode, the air conditioner cools and dehumidifies the air. The temperature is maintained at the level you specify.
In dehumidification mode, the electronics work in such a way as to remove moisture from the air while minimally affecting the room temperature.
In ventilation mode, air circulation throughout the room is maintained.

Additional modes and settings
For more efficient cooling and heating of the room, you can use the TURBO mode of the fan.
For night work there is a Sleep mode. The air conditioner is quieter in it.
Econocool mode is provided to save energy. In this mode, the air conditioner consumes less energy.
Automatic restart. If the air conditioner was operating in any mode and there was a power outage, then after power appears in the network, operation will automatically continue in the same mode.
Timer - to start and stop the air conditioner according to a schedule, it is possible to configure the start and shutdown at a certain time.

Useful tips
Do not overcool the room. This leads to excessive energy consumption and can be harmful to health.
Close blinds and curtains indoors to prevent sunlight from heating things up.
A large number of people and running heating devices can also complicate the operation of the air conditioner.
You need to monitor the position of the vertical flap. When heating it should be vertical, when cooling it should be horizontal.
Keep the air filter clean. A dirty filter will make it difficult for the air conditioner to operate.
Keep windows and doors closed while cooling. Do not forget to periodically ventilate the room - the air conditioner cools, but does not renew the air.
At the beginning of work, in order to cool the room faster, it is recommended to turn on the TURBO fan mode.
Cleaning your air conditioner
Do not touch metal parts with bare hands. Before cleaning, unplug the air conditioner with dry and clean hands.
Use only detergents pre-dissolved in water.
Do not use detergents with abrasive particles, gasoline, solvents, or hot water. All this can damage the appearance of the plastic.

If you think there is a problem
The air conditioner doesn't work. Check if the plug is connected to the outlet. Is there power on the network? Has the air conditioner been turned off by the shutdown timer?
The air conditioner cannot be turned on 3 minutes after it is turned off. This is protection against frequent launches. Wait 3 minutes and try again.
During drying, the indoor fan turns off. While operating in this mode, the electronics ensure that minimal air cooling occurs when the room is dehumidified. Also, this is necessary to remove condensate from the core.
During operation in heating mode, the operation of the indoor unit stops (maximum 10 minutes). This is necessary to defrost the external unit, which is covered with ice in this mode.
When the heating mode starts, the indoor unit does not start working immediately. First, the heat exchanger warms up, and then the fan turns on - this protects you from being blown with cold air.
After power appeared in the electrical network, the air conditioner began to work, although no one controlled it from the remote control. If the air conditioner was operating in any mode before the power failure, then after power appears it will automatically resume operation in the same mode.
Water is leaking from the outdoor unit. During cooling and heating, the air conditioner contains elements that are colder than the surrounding environment. Condensation may form on them. If ice appears on the outdoor unit while heating the room, water will appear during defrosting.
White smoke is coming from the outdoor unit. During heating, the air conditioner releases cold air outside, around which fog can form.
The image on the remote control has become worse, disappeared, and the remote control does not work. Check the presence and correct installation of batteries. Replace them if necessary.
The room cannot be heated/cooled properly. This may be due to a number of reasons. Check whether the operating mode and fan power are selected correctly. Are the windows and doors in the room closed, are there any working heating devices. If there are many people in the room, the cooling work will be slower. Is there dirt on the air filters?
The air coming out of the air conditioner has a strange smell. Are the air filters clean? Is there any contamination inside the air cavity? Perhaps the smell is drawn in from outside, for example, from a carpet or wall. This is especially possible if condensation gets on them and mold grows.
A crackling sound is heard when the air conditioner operates. Fluctuations in temperature cause the plastic to change size and cause cracking sounds.
A splashing and gurgling sound is heard. This is possible due to the movement of refrigerant and condensate. If the air conditioner is turned off and there are sounds, then it is possible that this is due to the operation of the exhaust ventilation - air will enter the room through a hose to remove condensate.

When the air conditioner will not be used for a long time
If you plan to not use the air conditioner for a while, it is recommended that you prepare it for this.
Turn it on in heating mode. This will dry out the indoor unit and stop the growth of fungi and bacteria.
Disconnect the plug from the outlet.
Remove batteries from the remote control.
To use after a long period without use you must:
make sure there are no obstacles to air movement around both units;
install batteries in the remote control;
connect the plug to a socket of the appropriate rating;
check for grounding;

Installation location and electrical work
Installation work should be carried out by specialists with experience in such work.
The device should not be installed in places where there is a lot of machine oil, a salty, humid climate, or where hydrogen sulfide or flammable gases are present in the atmosphere.
Do not place the air conditioner near high-frequency equipment.
Do not place the device where the air outlet from it will be blocked.

Precautionary measures
Do not connect the device to a carrier, extension cord, or outlet of inappropriate power.
Do not modify, change, repair the power cord, etc.
Do not place heavy, hard, or hot objects on the power cord, and do not place foreign objects on the indoor or outdoor units.
Do not pull out the plug from the socket while the air conditioner is operating. First turn it off using the remote.
Do not expose people, animals and plants to prolonged exposure to cold air flow - this can be harmful to health.
Do not insert fingers, pencils or other objects into the technological openings of the air conditioner housing. This can cause injury.
If oddities are detected during operation of the air conditioner, such as unusual noise or a burning smell, stop its operation, unplug the plug from the outlet and call technical assistance.
If the air conditioner stops heating and cooling, you need to make sure there is no refrigerant leak. Call the experts.
Do not spray flammable substances on the indoor or outdoor units as this may cause a fire.
Do not place electrical appliances and furniture under the indoor unit - condensation may form, which will damage the property.
Be sure to clean the device with the plug disconnected from the socket.
Ventilate the room regularly, since the air conditioner does not renew the air, but only cools/heats it.
During a thunderstorm, disconnect the air conditioner from the power supply.
Ground the device properly.

The Japanese company DAIKIN, engaged in the production of climate control and heating equipment, is taking a leading position among other manufacturers in this product sector. Why are DAIKIN air conditioners recognized as the best, for what technical characteristics and additional options?

Why DAIKIN: 3 reasons

Firstly, this company divides all equipment into household, commercial and industrial.

The household section mainly includes split- and multi-split systems, which, thanks to new technologies introduced, maximally optimize living conditions in apartments, residential buildings or small offices and shops.

Commercial equipment is represented by a very large range of technical solutions for restaurants, hotels, banks, sports institutions and similar organizations. These include chillers, fan coils, VRV systems and the SKY-AIR class of air conditioners with wall-mounted, duct, cassette and sub-ceiling types of indoor units.

DAIKIN industrial air conditioners include equipment such as VRV with inverter control, modular systems with the ability to integrate an air conditioner, industrial condensers, precision air conditioners, chillers and other high-performance configurations. They are used in various industries and agriculture, where technological cooling/heating facilities have large areas and complex architectural solutions, and also require the correct organization of the microclimate to maintain the “life” of production plants and compensate for significant heat excesses.

Secondly, many manufacturers do not have the additional options that DAIKIN offers. For example, its new splits have a unique Ururu Sarara air treatment system, which provides humidification without additional water supply and dehumidification without cooling, which makes the room climate comfortable at any given temperature. Essentially, it is an air conditioner with a built-in humidifier and air purifier.

Thirdly, this Japanese manufacturer has entire series of only outdoor units of DAIKIN air conditioners or only indoor ones. This is due to the fact that the design of the devices of this climate control equipment is very “flexible”, so they can be combined with each other from different series. This fact significantly expands the boundaries of consumer choice and gives more opportunities when designing objects.

Types of DAIKIN air conditioners

The standard range offer is worthy: splits with various types of indoor units, so-called “multi” units, VRV with the ability to connect up to 20 indoor units, fan coil units, chillers, rooftop air conditioners and other types of air conditioning systems.

This article discusses the most popular and sought-after DAIKIN air conditioners that can be bought in Russia.

DAIKIN wall systems

Splits with a wall-mounted indoor unit are distinguished by their non-trivial design. Aesthetic contours and lines, in line with modern style trends, are embodied in a curved panel. Original colors, compact shapes, wide dampers - all these qualities are possessed by the split systems of the EMURA, SKY INVERTER, URURA SARARA series.

This wall-mounted equipment belongs to the premium class, so the optional richness and technical characteristics of DAIKIN wall-mounted air conditioners are impressive:

  • high performance combined with reasonable energy efficiency due to a rotary compressor in most models and energy-saving functions - auto-cleaning filter and 2-zone presence sensor;
  • new safe refrigerant R32;
  • extended operating temperature range;
  • noise level up to a maximum of 19 dBa;
  • double air intake and volumetric air flows;
  • 5 air treatment methods – humidification, dehumidification, ventilation, purification, heating/cooling;
  • online controller for controlling the air conditioner via the Internet or telephone.

Minimum energy consumption, excellent performance and reduced carbon dioxide emissions - this is what the standard wall split from DAIKIN provides.

DAIKIN cassette systems

The external unit of the DAIKIN cassette air conditioner is located outside, and the internal unit with all communications is hidden under a suspended or false ceiling. Only the decorative distribution grille remains in the viewing area, fixed in a single plane along the ceiling line. This is an ideal solution for rooms from 40 m² to 150 m², as well as where strict savings in usable space when connecting are required.

DAIKIN semi-industrial (SKY class) cassette air conditioners, for example, the FHYC, FCQ, FFQ and FHYK series, are in good demand among buyers, as they provide excellent technical performance and have a number of convenient options. And this:

  • power, which makes it possible to quickly achieve specified air parameters;
  • low noise level;
  • antibacterial surface of the remote control;
  • the ability to combine them into Twin, Triple or Double Twin systems;
  • automatic mode selection and restart;
  • protection against extreme temperatures;
  • fresh air addition;
  • powerful filtration system;
  • mandatory condensate drainage;
  • economical night operation;
  • self-diagnosis function in case of malfunctions;
  • function of taking into account weather conditions;
  • no contamination of the ceiling due to a special algorithm for moving the dampers.

Many buyers unanimously believe that DAIKIN cassette air conditioners are stylish climate control equipment that optimizes the conditions for people in various public spaces, as well as fully controllable settings to create comfort.

Ceiling systems DAIKIN

The ideal room for a DAIKIN ceiling air conditioner should have an area of up to 150 m² and a ceiling height of up to 4 m. Such structures are placed as follows: the device itself is fixed to the ceiling, and communications are masked. This is also a SKY class technique.

Typically, DAIKIN ceiling air conditioners are available with 1, 2, 3 or 4-flow indoor units. The choice of the number of streams depends on the shape of the room and the location of the device itself. The FHY and FHQ series distribute air in one direction, while the FUY and FUQ series distribute air in two, three or four directions. First, the air masses are taken in through the grille in the front panel, and then along the ceiling they go into the room. In order for the damper to swing in the desired direction, you need to set it to the ceiling height using the remote control.

In addition, DAIKIN ceiling air conditioners have other advantages:

  • inverter technology, which reduces noise and increases energy savings;
  • oxygen admixture;
  • efficient air distribution vertically and horizontally;
  • automatic maintenance of acceptable humidity levels;
  • anti-mold filter treatment;
  • economical operating mode in the absence of people in the room with a quick return to recreating comfortable conditions when they appear;
  • protection of the outdoor unit heat exchanger from frost;
  • lifting condensate through a drainage pump.

Ceiling air conditioning systems can also work in multi-split and VRV systems as their components.

This is an ideal working atmosphere without harming the environment and efficient energy saving for many years.

DAIKIN duct systems

Using DAIKIN duct air conditioners, you can cool large areas (up to 250 m²) of one or more rooms. In this case, you will only need one external unit, to which several internal ones are connected. The latter are sewn under the finished ceiling or partition, making the installation completely invisible.

Channels through which cold air enters are connected to the external unit, they are thermally insulated (to prevent the formation of condensation) and soundproofed. This type has the ability to mix in fresh air through an extensive network of air ducts - up to 30% of the total volume of air masses.

DAIKIN air conditioners with a ducted indoor unit are divided into 3 categories:

  • low-pressure– with pressure up to 40 Pa, treat small rooms with high noise requirements (FDX series);
  • medium pressure– with pressure up to 100 Pa, they process larger rooms, have a noise level of up to 29 dBa due to aerodynamic noise in the channel (FBQ series);
  • high-pressure– with pressure up to 250 Pa, power up to 26 kW in heating mode and a large length of channels (FDQ series).

All categories maintain the microclimate in two ways: by maintaining precisely set parameters in a local area or by achieving approximately general values throughout the entire room. In addition, duct air conditioners have a number of additional advantages:

  • noise reduction mode for both units;
  • electronic power control;
  • swinging rotor for contact with harmless refrigerant;
  • anti-mold filter;
  • automatic control of normal air humidity;
  • functions of self-diagnosis, night saving and absence/presence of people in the room;
  • anti-corrosion treatment of materials.

These are not all the technical characteristics and functions of DAIKIN duct-type air conditioners. Each series and model may have additional features. But a special advantage is the multi-system layout, which reduces the number of external devices, preserving the appearance of the building and saves space, since it is not always possible to place several external units.

It is necessary to accurately calculate the length of the route so that the freon normally reaches the indoor unit, and correctly design the system to avoid excessive air supply through some air ducts and insufficient air through others. It is also necessary to thoroughly secure the air ducts and select high-quality material for them, otherwise expensive equipment will produce extraneous noise.

Industrial systems DAIKIN

The most important distinguishing feature of DAIKIN industrial air conditioners is their power, the values of which start from 7 kW and reach enormous values. Such equipment is installed in institutions with a large area and having strict requirements regarding maintained air parameters - medical laboratories, server rooms, warehouses, banks, and so on.

All DAIKIN industrial air conditioners perfectly maintain the set temperature and humidity level and make it possible to make pre-installations. The model range includes rooftop air conditioners (UATYQ-C series), screw (EWAD-TZ series) daikin inverter air conditioners (EWAD-AJYNN/S series), cabinet units (UCPJ series), working only for cooling, but with excellent cooling performance characteristics up to 189 kW, multi-zone VRV and VRF systems and other high-tech equipment.

By the way, roof monoblocks are an inexpensive option for large premises such as shopping centers and department stores. Another plus is simple installation, carried out on the roof or next to the building itself. This provides for energy savings with natural cooling during transitional seasons - outside air is used to cool inside, and this saves electricity consumption.

DAIKIN Precision Systems

When it comes to maintaining the temperature in a server room (data center), DAIKIN air conditioners can be classified as precision. They are installed where it is important to create conditions with an accuracy of tenths of a degree and a deviation in humidity levels of no more than 2.5%, as well as to regulate the content of harmful microparticles in the air during a continuous production process.

All precision air conditioners from DAIKIN are divided into devices:

  • with air cooled coolant– consist of an indoor unit with the main components of the device, and an outdoor (remote) unit installed outside the premises;
  • with water-cooled coolant– consist of one block with a water condenser located inside; the heating mode is carried out by a built-in electric heater, and not a heat pump;
  • with mixed coolant cooling– has 2 circuits: freon and water, the principle of which is to transfer heat from the first to the second, and in turn, the water circuit removes excess heat through an external heat exchanger.

The first two types are single-circuit, unlike the last.

In some series, DAIKIN rooftop air conditioners are equipped with a “Free Cooling” control system, which, when the outside temperature of the air decreases, uses its cold flows entering through the air ducts for internal cooling. This significantly saves energy consumption.

The DAIKIN precision air conditioner for a server room can have different air supply methods: upper and lower. In the first option, transmission occurs through the air conditioner itself and ceiling air ducts, and in the second, through air distributors from the raised floor.

Judging by the reviews, additional advantages of server room air conditioners from DAIKIN include:

  • fan power, which exceeds standard values by three times;
  • a huge range of working temperatures - from -45° to +50° outdoors (for other industrial ones the limit is -15°);
  • high cooling performance, reaching 300 kW in some models;
  • support of precise specified parameters by the built-in microprocessor;
  • 24/7 uninterrupted operation of the system.

All industrial climate control systems from DAIKIN are characterized by long-term operation without breakdowns. But at the same time, several conditions must be observed: precise design taking into account all the features of the building, installation only by experienced specialists and regular maintenance.

When designing in the event of equipment failure, it is necessary to provide for at least 50% redundancy and an immediate notification system for operational failures.

Outdoor and indoor units for multi-split systems and VRV systems

As mentioned earlier, the DAIKIN company produces separate series of outdoor and indoor units, which can have different layout options among themselves in multi- and VRV systems.

An example is the “Super Multi Plus” system, which is intended for installation in cottages, large apartments, salons, that is, where there is a small group of premises. External DAIKIN air conditioner units from this series have a cooling capacity from 11.2 kW to 15.5 kW and are combined with Split and SkyAir class indoor units. Moreover, the external unit of such a DAIKIN air conditioner can be combined with 9 internal ones in one system.

There are also a number of internal devices of various types that are suitable for working with external ones in the MXS multi-system.

This expands the boundaries of equipment selection and also makes it possible to solve complex technical problems.

Instructions for DAIKIN remote controls

Like all other manufacturers, DAIKIN has operating instructions for all series and models of air conditioners. They include a standard set of operating recommendations, descriptions of performance characteristics and additional options, installation tips and, of course, detailed instructions for the DAIKIN air conditioner remote control with all the rules for setting various modes.

We can say that the last point is one of the most important, since it contains detailed settings for setting the main modes of cooling, heating, dehumidification, ventilation and purification. The instructions for the DAIKIN air conditioner control panel explain how to turn on the “Timer” function, how to adjust the air flow or turn on the economy mode.

The basic instructions for DAIKIN air conditioners also contain important information about cases of malfunctions that are not malfunctions. For example, if the operation suddenly stops and the “Operation” light comes on, this means that a protective shutdown of the device has been triggered due to significant voltage fluctuations. Resumption usually occurs after 3 minutes.

Error codes for DAIKIN air conditioners

Also, the instructions for the DAIKIN air conditioner remote control contain important information about fault codes that require immediate contact with service departments. In another way, they are called error codes for DAIKIN air conditioners, which are divided into errors:

  • systems;
  • indoor unit;

All errors in DAIKIN air conditioners have their own alphanumeric designation, that is, a code. For example, remote controls for daikin air conditioners or instrument panels of the FTK20GV1B model showing error U0 indicate a lack of refrigerant.

When purchasing, you should immediately check the equipment you are purchasing and the availability of instructions, among other things.

The Daikin FTX20JV/RX20JV air conditioner model supports the following operating modes:
. autoselect;
. heating;
. cooling;
. drainage;
. ventilation.

To use after a long period without use you must:
. make sure there are no obstacles to air movement around both units;
. install batteries in the remote control;
. connect the plug to a socket of the appropriate rating;
. check for grounding;

Do not modify, change or repair the power cord or air conditioner units.
Do not place heavy, hard, or hot objects on the power cord, and do not place foreign objects on the indoor or outdoor units.
Do not pull out the plug from the socket while the air conditioner is operating. First turn it off using the remote.
Do not expose people, animals or plants to cold air for long periods of time as this may be harmful to health.
Do not insert fingers, pencils or other objects into the technological openings of the air conditioner housing. This can cause injury.
If oddities are detected during the operation of the air conditioner, such as unusual noise or a burning smell, stop its operation, unplug the plug from the outlet and call technical assistance.
