  3. The last method is the most unusual and most visual. We will need small cotton balls. So, how does germination occur? First of all, we form fairly dense balls of cotton wool, lightly moisten them with water and place selected bean grains on them. Then we place them in a transparent glass container and place it in a warm place with enough light. In just a few hours you will be able to observe the first activity. And in a day, young shoots will appear.

Second way

There is another way to sprout beans for food. First, the seeds are also sorted and washed with warm water. When selecting bean grains, pay special attention to ensure that they are free from mold.

Now you will need a wide flat plate. A piece of fabric is placed on its bottom (it is best to use cotton). However, if there are very few seeds, then you can put them on a plate. Pour unboiled warm water on top so that the fabric is well wetted, and place the prepared beans.

The seeds are covered with a piece of gauze, which is also moistened with warm water. The plate is left in a warm place. The temperature there should not fall below 25°C.

After 5-6 hours, the beans are thoroughly washed, but this must be done very carefully. After this, the seeds are again placed on a plate, covered with gauze and sent to a warm place. In the future, this procedure should be repeated every 7-9 hours.

Sprouts on the beans will appear in 1.5-2 days. Then it’s up to you to decide how to germinate beans for yourself, complete the procedure or continue. However, remember - after the sprouts appear, you can germinate the seeds for no more than 48 hours.

What beans are eaten?

Prepare the sauce. To do this, you need to grate the ginger (you should use the finest grater). Mix ginger puree with lemon juice, sesame oil, honey and soy sauce.

If desired, you can remove the green shell from the sprouted beans. This is easy to do if you rinse the seeds with plenty of water.

All products are mixed with the sauce, the finished salad is placed on a dish and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

Or you can water the beds before sowing with hot (50º-70º) water with the addition of manganese and immediately sow the seeds into the still hot soil. If you grow beans through seedlings, they can be transplanted into open ground only when the spring frosts end.

The soil for beans should be fertile, loose, rich in humus and microelements. If the soil is poor in microelements, then the beans must be fed with a solution of microelements just before flowering. Beans do not tolerate acidic soils; the soil reaction should be pH 6-6.5, that is, slightly alkaline. Therefore, before planting, you need to add a deoxidizer to the soil, preferably dolomite or chalk, or, in extreme cases, ash. The place under planting beans should be protected from cold winds and well lit by the sun. Beans will not grow in the shade.

Beans should be sown to a depth of 2-3 cm. You can sow the grains in one row at a distance of 8-10 cm from each other. The rows are usually placed at a distance of 20-30 cm from each other. But you can also sow beans using the square-cluster method, that is, put 3-4 grains in one hole and arrange the holes according to a 40x40 cm pattern.

Beans do not tolerate waterlogging of the soil, so it is better to plant them in beds, watering them regularly from the moment the shoots emerge until the second pair of true leaves appear. Then watering should be stopped until the flowering phase. From the moment of flowering, watering is resumed.

The first fertilizing is done at the moment of emergence of seedlings. The easiest way is to dilute the herbal solution twice with water and add 1 tbsp to each bucket of solution. spoon of potassium and superphosphate. Beans do not need additional nitrogen, since nodule bacteria live on their roots, which supply the plant with nitrogen. But in the initial period of growth there are not enough of them, so it is necessary to give organic fertilizer in the form of grass fertilizer containing nitrogen. Beans are damaged mainly by two pests: the bean kernel and the spider mite. The bean kernel is a bug that is located inside the bean and is transferred along with the seeds into the soil when sowing. Inspect the beans before sowing, and if you see a hole, then do not sow such a seed, because a beetle is hiding inside. Spider mites typically attack beans in a greenhouse. The leaves become light, then turn yellow and dry out. There is an excellent drug against pests called Fitoverm. After spraying with this preparation, beans can be eaten after 2 days.

The most dangerous viral diseases for beans are anthracnose and bacteriosis. No remedies will help against a viral infection, but preventive spraying with a solution of “Fitosporin” will help to avoid anthracnose and bacteriosis. Spraying with this preparation should be done 1-2 times in the initial stage of growth, before flowering.

Ripening pods should be removed regularly and used immediately. The first few pods should be left for seed and allowed to fully ripen on the plant. There is no point in growing shelled beans for grain on a small plot. This is completely unprofitable. But growing green beans in small quantities for constant use in the summer and preserving green pods for the winter makes sense. It is enough to have 4-5 climbing bean plants planted against the wall in the greenhouse on the north side, or 6-8 bush bushes, which can be grown in open ground.

Very interesting asparagus varieties are Vigna chinensis and Vigna japonica. The length of the blade of these varieties reaches 1 m, and the width is 1-1.5 cm. However, it is worth noting that growing beans of these varieties is a very difficult task in the North-West, even if done in a greenhouse.


Sowing bean seeds

Bean grains do not germinate well because they have a hard shell. However, it is not recommended to soak them before sowing, because in cold soil the beans may simply rot. It is better to fill the seeds with very hot water (about 70 ° C) just before sowing. First you need to add potassium permanganate to the water until it turns bright pink. As soon as you put the seeds in this water, immediately go to the garden to sow them. And after sowing, pour the remaining hot water onto the bed with the newly sown beans. Or, before sowing, you can spill the beds with very hot water (about 50 ° C), adding manganese to it, and sow the seeds in the hot soil. When growing beans through seedlings, only after the end of spring frosts can they be transplanted into open ground.

What should the soil be like?

Growing beans should take place on loose and fertile soil, rich in microelements and humus. If your soil is poor in microelements, then you need to feed it with a solution of microelements just before flowering.

The soil reaction for growing beans should be slightly alkaline, that is, have a pH of 6 - 6.5. Therefore, add a deoxidizing agent to the soil before planting. Chalk or dolomite is best suited for this purpose; in extreme cases, ash can be used. It is also worth noting that beans will not grow in the shade, which means the place under the beans should be well lit by the sun. In addition, it must be protected from cold winds.

The sowing depth of beans should be 5 - 7 cm. The grains can be sown at a distance of 8 - 10 cm from each other in one row. The distance between the rows is usually 20 - 30 cm. However, for beans, you can also use the square-nest method of sowing. To do this, the holes need to be placed according to a 40x40 cm pattern.

It is worth noting that it is advisable to plant beans on ridges, since they do not tolerate waterlogging of the soil well. From the moment the beans emerge, they need to be watered regularly until the second pair of true leaves appear. After this, you need to stop watering until the flowering phase. Watering should be resumed from the moment of flowering.

How to feed beans!

At the moment of emergence of seedlings, you need to give the first fertilizing. The easiest way to do this is to dilute the weed infusion twice with water and add 1 tablespoon of superphosphate and potassium to each bucket of solution. It is worth noting that nodule bacteria live on the roots of beans, supplying the plant with nitrogen, so it does not require additional nitrogen. However, during the initial period of growth, it is still necessary to feed the plant with organic fertilizer containing nitrogen, since during this period the growth of nodule bacteria is still insufficient. As such a top dressing, weed infusion is an excellent option!

Weed infusion can be replaced with any complex fertilizer (nitrophoska, azofoska, kemira and others). For 10 liters of water, 2 tablespoons are enough. And at the moment of flowering you need to feed the plants a second time. To do this, add 1 tablespoon of potassium and superphosphate for every 10 liters of water. In addition, add another 2 teaspoons of the preparation "Uniflor - micro".

Bean pests

Basically, only 2 pests can damage beans. These include spider mites and bean weevil. The first, as a rule, affects the plant in the greenhouse, as a result of which the bean leaves first lighten, then turn yellow and eventually dry out. An excellent drug against this pest is Fitoverm. By the way, after 2 days you can eat beans after spraying with this drug.

But the bean kernel is a bug located inside the bean. It is transferred to the soil when sowing along with the seeds. Therefore, carefully inspect the beans before sowing, and do not sow seeds in which you find a hole. It is precisely inside such seeds that the beetle hides.

Bean diseases

Anthracnose, viral diseases and bacteriosis are the most dangerous diseases for beans. Moreover, no means, unfortunately, help to escape from viral infections. But preventive spraying with a solution of “Fitosporin” perfectly helps to avoid bacteriosis and anthracnose. Spraying with this preparation should be carried out before flowering, that is, in the initial stage of growth. This needs to be done 1 - 2 times.

How to harvest!


Ripening pods should be removed regularly and used immediately. The seeds should be left with the first few pods and allowed to fully ripen on the plant. It is worth noting that there is no point in growing shelled beans on a small plot (about 6 acres) to obtain grain. In other words, it is completely unprofitable to grow beans.

But it makes sense to grow green beans in small quantities to preserve green pods for the winter, as well as for constant consumption throughout the summer. It is enough to have 6 - 8 bushes of bush beans or 4 - 5 climbing plants, which can be planted on the north side of the greenhouse near the wall. It is quite possible to grow beans in open ground.

Without loss of germination, bean seeds can be stored for 10 years. But you need to leave a few of the lowest pods for seeds. It is worth noting that beans grow quite quickly and begin to bear fruit within 50 - 60 days from the moment of germination. However, keep in mind that fruiting may begin much later if the weather is cold.

Useful advice!
Along the perimeter of the potato field, you can sow white bush beans along with potato tubers. To do this, place one bean grain under each tuber. This technique helps to avoid attacks on potatoes by the Colorado potato beetle. This is due to the fact that this pest does not like the smell of white bean leaves, so it will leave or fly around your field. Eating beans

Preparation. Drain liquid from canned beans and puree. Add vegetable oil. Using a blender, beat everything until smooth. Add mustard, salt, sugar, lemon juice. Shake a little more. The sauce will be very tasty, almost like mayonnaise! Instead of canned beans, you can take white beans, soak them overnight, and boil until tender. And then we cook it in the same way as with canned beans. Only the liquid in which the beans were cooked should be left a little when making puree.

Ingredients: 2 zucchini, boiled beans - 200 g, 3-4 tomatoes, 1 onion (large), ketchup (or tomato paste) - 2 tablespoons, salt, sugar, chili pepper, vegetable oil, garlic - 2-3 cloves , greens (parsley, dill).

Preparation. Fry one large or two small onions in vegetable oil. Grate the peeled tomatoes and add to the onion.

Cut the zucchini into cubes and add to the frying pan with the onions and tomatoes. Season with ketchup, salt, pepper and sugar. Ketchup can be replaced with tomato paste. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until done.

Place boiled beans into the prepared vegetables (or open a can of canned beans in their own juice), add garlic and herbs.

SCREAMED EGGS WITH ASPARAGUS BEANS
