Light flowers made of paper. DIY paper flowers: a master class for beginners. General principles and rules

Paper flowers are not only pleasant to see, but also to make with your own hands. In addition, they have a couple of advantages over their natural counterparts - they are much more affordable and durable. By the way, having learned how to make flowers with your own hands, you will never be at a loss if you suddenly need:

  • Wrap gifts;
  • Decorate the house for the holiday;
  • Festive;
  • Make props for a photo shoot;
  • Make gifts for loved ones, friends, colleagues or the child’s teachers/caregivers;
  • ...or just update the interior.

From this material you will learn how to make flowers with your own hands from corrugated, colored or tissue paper (tish). You will find 4 step-by-step master classes with pictures and templates, as well as a selection of 70 beautiful photos and useful videos.

Application ideas

Later we will tell you about techniques for making flowers from paper, but first we suggest you be inspired by photo examples of their use.

  • Bouquets of paper flowers can not only be placed in vases, but also “planted” in cute flowerpots. To do this, they must first be stuck into a base of polystyrene foam or floral foam. Next, the base should be decorated with dry moss or small pebbles.
  • Paper flowers in vases, pots or just buds without stems will decorate March 8, Easter, Valentine's Day or a wedding.

Paper flowers in silence

  • How to design napkins for a festive table setting? Simply place small flowers on top or arrange them into rings with colorful buds.

  • And here is another attribute for a festive table decoration - holders for guest cards.

  • You can decorate your house for a holiday or just like that with garlands or cascades of flowers.

To make such a garland of flowers with your own hands, use ribbon petal blanks (see MK No. 1 below, step 3) and skip the steps of making the stem and pistil

  • Take a sheet of cardboard or canvas on a stretcher, glue the buds to it and frame it. Voila, the panel is ready! You can hang it on the wall or give it to a friend.

  • You can order a beautiful photo zone from the masters, or you can set aside a couple of days and make it yourself, saving a lot. The second master class provides instructions on how to make large flowers with your own hands.

Photo zone with flowers for a child's birthday

  • Large paper flowers can also be made for a photo shoot.

  • Crepe paper flowers make luxurious wreaths. They can be used as an attribute for a themed party and also for a photo shoot.

  • Even the simplest gift packaging will become elegant if you decorate it with homemade paper buds (see master class No. 1 and No. 4). In this selection of photo examples you can get a couple of original ideas.

Master class No. 1 - Flowers made of corrugated paper (basic instructions)

DIY flowers made from corrugated paper can look surprisingly lifelike. Although at some stages of their manufacture you will have to tinker a little, even a beginner can cope with the craft the very first time.

This selection of photos shows examples of paper flowers that you can make yourself by following our step-by-step master class.

To work you will need:

  • Corrugated paper of the desired shade (for buds);
  • Green crepe paper (for stems, leaves, sepals) and/or crepe paper tape;
  • Floral wire (wire wrapped in green, sold in craft stores, on Aliexpress) or wooden skewer/wire/newspaper tube/knitting needle;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue (hot glue gun is best);
  • Pencil.

Master Class

Although almost any flowers can be made from corrugated (creped) paper - from roses to tulips - the principle of their manufacture is approximately the same. The main difficulty is to make the right petals: give them the desired shape, volume, size, choose the color of the paper, guess the quantity.

  • By following our master class, you will master the basic skills of making flowers from corrugated paper and will be able to make roses, peonies, tulips, lilies, daisies, chrysanthemums and dahlias.

Step 1. So first we need to make the stem. If you use floral wire, then simply cut it to the required length: a stem about 30 cm long is suitable for making a bouquet, and for, say, a boutonniere, 15 cm is enough.

  • If you don’t have special wire, it doesn’t matter. An excellent stem can be made from a wooden skewer, any flexible wire or newspaper rolled into a thin tube using a knitting needle/skewer. At the last stage, your improvised stem needs to be wrapped in green corrugated paper (we'll talk about this below).

Step 2. Since the pistils and stamens of all flowers are different, and sometimes there are none at all, there are many techniques for making the “cores” of artificial flowers.

  • To make a chamomile or daisy, you will need the core of a bud in the form of a yellow button. Poke a ball of cotton wool onto the stem, then wrap it in a couple of yellow squares cut from corrugated paper, wrap the base of the “button” with green corrugated tape and finally secure the tape with glue.
  • To make a rose core, you need to cut out a 9x9 cm square from colored corrugated paper, fold it into a triangle, then connect the two corners of the triangle to its vertex. Next, wrap the resulting torch-shaped blank to the top of the stem with green corrugated tape and secure it with glue.

The following photo illustrates blanks for making cores of different colors.

  • Do you want to give a bouquet of flowers as a sweet gift (see photo below)? Use candy for the center! To do this, simply plant it on the top of the stem and secure it with tape/paper tape.

Step 3. Let's start making petals and forming a bud. This stage is the most important, so it should be given more attention. Depending on what kind of flower you want to make, choose one of two working methods.

Single petal method (suitable for roses, peonies, lilies and other flowers with a small number of petals)

As the name suggests, the method involves forming a bud one by one, petal by petal.

  1. The first step is to draw and cut out a template of the desired shape and size (see templates below).
  2. Then the corrugated paper is folded several times, a template is applied to it, the outline of the template is outlined with a pencil, and then cut out with scissors. As a result, you will end up with several blanks at once. Repeat the procedure several times to get the desired number of petals.

These templates will help you navigate the sizes, shapes and number of petals. Keep in mind that the length of rose, peony and tulip petals should be approximately 9-11 cm, and lily - 13.5-15.5 cm

  1. Next, all the petals need to be given volume and bend: stretch a little and bend inward/outward, if necessary, wrap the ends with a toothpick/skewer (for example, for a rose). To understand exactly what shape the petals need to be given, just look at a photo of a real flower and experiment a little.

Corrugated paper easily stretches, curls and takes the desired shape

To make a peony, you will need to make 35 petals and a stem with a button. How to make petals: based on the photo, cut out the petals of the desired shape, then stretch them slightly and bend them inward, gather the base of the petals a little. The central petals need to be glued lower, and the rest – higher. When the flower is ready, slightly tuck the tips of the petals inward

To make a rose, use 5 small and 7 large petals (see template above). Round the petals just below the middle, and twist the upper edges onto a skewer/toothpick outward. Attach the small petals to the core first, and then the larger ones.

To make a lily, use 5 petals (see template above) and a pistil with stamens from red and white corrugated paper. Fold the petals in half lengthwise to form pleats, then unfold them. Give the petals a bend by turning them outward at their widest point.

Tulips made from corrugated paper are the easiest to make. You only need six petals, they need to be slightly rounded and the ends pleated

  1. When all the petals are ready, start gluing them one by one to the stem, and then on top of each other, keeping a checkerboard pattern. A hot glue gun is best for this purpose. If there are not too many petals, then instead of glue you can use the same green corrugated paper tape (see photo).

Tape method (suitable for daisies, daisies, carnations and other “layered” flowers)

The difference between this technique is that the petals are cut out not individually, but from a strip of corrugated paper, when the workpiece becomes like a fringe. In this case, the petals acquire volume and bending (sometimes several layers at a time) only after the fringe is attached to the stem.

  1. Cut a strip of corrugated paper to the desired length and width, then fold it in several layers and cut out the petals of the desired shape (see template below).

  1. Wrap the resulting fringe tightly around the pestle and secure it with green corrugated tape, tape or glue. If there are too many layers, then to prevent the bud from slipping out of your hands, the fringe should be cut into several parts.

The central petals of the chrysanthemum need to be wound around the pistil quite tightly, the rest - looser and slightly higher

The carnation is made from three stripes (see template). The first strip just needs to be tightly gathered into a bundle and secured with tape/tape. The second and third strips need to be wrapped around it, holding and aligning the lower part of the bud. Next, the bud is fixed with corrugated tape or glue. Finally, pull the petals outward to give the carnation a rounded shape.

To make a dahlia, start winding the blank just below the pistil, but then wind the petals, rising higher and higher. Shape the petals into a round shape, curl the tips inwards slightly and finally pinch the tip of each petal to form a fold.

  1. Give the petals a bend if necessary.

  1. Now that the flower is almost ready, it needs to be supplemented with sepals and leaves on the stem. To do this, you need to cut out leaf blanks in the appropriate quantity, shape and size (refer to the photo or templates) and simply glue them in the right places.

  • The sepals are glued under the bud, then they are given a bend and volume.
  • To make leaves for some types of flowers, such as tulips or lilies, you just need to cut out the blanks and glue them to the stem. However, some flowers have leaves with stalks and they need to be done a little differently. Cut out the leaves (with a small margin for attaching), then glue them to a small piece of wire, wrap the wire in green paper, then glue the cutting to the stem. If desired, paper leaves can be replaced with artificial ones.

  1. Hurray, your corrugated paper flower is almost ready! All that remains is to wrap the entire stem with a strip/ribbon of green corrugation, starting with the sepals and simultaneously wrapping around the place where the leaves are attached. At the beginning and at the end of the stem, the winding must be fixed with glue.
  2. To make your handmade flowers even more realistic and last longer, cover them with melted beeswax and let them dry.

The following video tutorial will help you better understand how to make flowers from corrugated paper with your own hands.

Master class No. 2 - Large rose made of corrugated paper

Large hand-made flowers are good for decorating photo zones, ceilings and walls at special occasions (for example, at a wedding or birthday). They can also become spectacular props for a photo shoot.

To work you will need:

  • A roll of corrugated paper of the desired color 50×200 cm (1 roll/1 flower);
  • A roll of green corrugated paper (for the stem and sepals);
  • A4 paper (you can use office paper);
  • Hot glue gun;
  • Scissors.

How to make large paper flowers:

Step 1. First we will make the stem. Take a sheet of white A4 paper, place a pencil on the corner, then roll the paper into a tube.

Step 2: Unroll the crepe paper roll completely. First fold it in half, then double it again, then fold it again... is it a rectangle? Now fold it in half to make a square measuring approximately 25x25cm.

Step 3. Cut the folded paper into a square at all folds using scissors. You will get two identical stacks of square sheets, from which we will then cut out the petals.

Step. 4. Fold each stack in half. From the first rectangular stack, cut out a half-heart shape, as shown in the diagram below. From the second stack, cut the same shape, but smaller.

Unfold the stacks to make petals like this.

Step 5. Twist the ends of the petal with a pencil or pen, and stretch the petal itself a little and bend it inward.

Step 6. Give the petal an even more rounded shape by making two folds at its bottom and securing them with hot glue.

Step 7. Let's start forming the bud. Roll one of the small petals around the stem quite tightly.

Step 8. Start gluing on the remaining small petals, following a checkerboard pattern. When the small petals run out, continue to grow the bud with larger petals. In total, your rose will “overgrow” 15 petals (+1 petal in the center of the bud).

Step 9. Fold a square sheet of green corrugated paper (25x25 cm) diagonally to form a triangle, then fold the triangle in half 2 more times. From the resulting multi-layered triangle, starting from the fold line (!), cut out the shape as in the picture below. When you straighten the cut out piece, you will get a quatrefoil.

Step 10. Make a small cross-shaped cut in the center of the quatrefoil (see picture above), through the resulting hole, put it on the stem up to the bud, then glue the leaves with hot glue.

Step 11. Hurray, our big rose is almost ready. All that remains is to wrap the stem in green paper. To do this, you need to roll it into a roll, then cut off an approximately 2-centimeter wide piece from the edge (that is, the same as if you cut a piece from a roll). Now unravel the resulting tape and wrap it around the stem, securing the upper and lower ends with glue.

From the following video you will learn how to make large flowers from paper with your own hands.

Master class No. 3 - Hyacinths made of colored paper (suitable for children's creativity)

These hyacinths look like they were made by a quilling expert. In fact, even a child can make such paper flowers with his own hands! Making the first hyacinth will take some time, but you will spend no more than 5 minutes on each subsequent flower.

To make such a bouquet of flowers with your own hands, you will need a little more than half an hour.

To make paper flowers you will need:

  • Colored paper or not too thick cardboard (for buds);
  • Green paper (for stems);
  • Scissors;
  • Ruler;
  • Pencil;
  • Glue stick;
  • Knitting needle or wooden skewer.

Master Class

Step 1. Cut a strip of approximately 21 x 2.5 cm. If you are using A4 colored paper/cardboard, then you just need to cut the sheet crosswise.

Step 2. Stepping back 1 cm from the top edge, draw a line along the strip with a pencil using a ruler. Next, using scissors, cut your workpiece into strips approximately 5-7 mm wide, not reaching the previously drawn line. You will end up with something like a fringed ribbon. Try to cut the paper into even strips parallel to each other, but don’t worry about mistakes, because they won’t be noticeable when folded.

Step 3. Using a knitting needle or wooden skewer, carefully roll each strip into a log until it stops. Make sure the pencil line is on the back of the paper.

Step 4. Now let's work on the stem. From green paper (cardboard will not work!), cut out a strip 21x2.5 cm.

  • By the way, if you want to save time, just use green straws as stems.

Step 5. Twist one corner of your strip diagonally, then lightly go over the entire strip with a glue stick (see photo) and finally roll the entire strip into a thin tube.

When you're finished, it will look something like this:

Step 6. Now it's time to roll the bud and glue it to the stem. To do this, take the bud blank (a strip with curls) again and lubricate its base from the wrong side with glue.

Step 7. Hurray, your first paper flower is almost ready, all that remains is to add leaves to the stem. To do this, cut out a piece of green paper about 2.5 x 8 cm and fold it lengthwise into an accordion about 1 cm wide.

Assemble the accordion and, stepping back about 1.5 cm from the bottom edge, give it a leaf shape using scissors.

When unfolded, your workpiece should have 3-4 leaves and look something like the photo.

Step 8. Apply glue to the bottom of the leaves and place its corner about 5 cm below the bud and at an angle, as shown in the photo below. Next, wrap the workpiece tightly around the stem.

Well, that's all, the hyacinth is ready! Repeat the process using different shades of paper to make a paper flower bouquet.

Master class No. 4 - Paper roses (express method)

This master class will come in handy when you need to make flowers with your own hands super-quickly, easily, on a budget and in large quantities.

To work you will need:

  • Any pretty paper (even book pages will do);
  • Green paper for leaves;
  • Glue (thermal glue is best);
  • Scissors;
  • Pencil.
  • Wooden skewers (needed if you want to make a bouquet).

How to make paper roses:

Step 1. Cut out a square piece of paper approximately 12x12cm.

Step 2: Draw a circle on your square and then draw a spiral inside it. It doesn’t have to be flawless for the roses to have texture. If you wish, you can make it completely wavy, then the rose will have pronounced petals.

Step 3: Cut out your circle, then cut along the spiral line. As a result, you will get something like a spring.

Step 4: Take the outer end of your “spring”, roll it into a log (loosely), then begin to twist the entire ribbon around it. Hold the flower from below to prevent the paper from unraveling.

Step 5. When you reach the base (the inside of the blank), glue the bud to it with enough glue. Voila, the first flower is ready!

Step 6. If desired, the rose can be supplemented with leaves. They are cut out into any shape and glued.

Step 7. If you want to make a bouquet, then glue the buds onto skewers or a newspaper/paper tube. It is advisable to wrap the stems in green paper tape.

Here are a few more ideas for making flowers with your own hands, which you can implement with the help of our master class.

Hole punch for large circles (or scissors and pencil)

1. First you need to make several circles. This can be done using a special hole punch or manually by drawing circles and cutting them out with scissors.

2. Fold all your circles in half.

3. Mark the middle on one circle and begin gluing the blanks neatly folded in half to it. In this case, one folded circle must be placed inside another (see picture).

You should end up with a sun like this.

*If you want a fuller flower, use more circles.

You can also make a blooming flower. To do this, you need to put several blanks into a folded green circle (see picture).

If you fold the green circle in four, you can make a flower like this, in which the diameter of the petals can be different.

Volumetric flowers made of paper and beads

In this master class you will be able to combine a three-dimensional flower and a beaded pattern.

You will need:

Colored thick paper

Pencil

Scissors

Thread and needle

1. Draw and cut out flowers on thick paper.

*If you want, you can make the flower petals convex using an embossing tool (you can replace this with another round object). Just run this tool a couple of times in the middle of the petal and get a small indentation.

2. Fold your blanks and sew beads in the center of the flower.

3. You can also use beads to decorate the card to which you attach the flower. Use a needle and thread for this as shown in the image.

DIY paper flowers. Flowers from a toilet paper roll (option 1).

These flowers are very easy to make, since everything you need to make them is available in almost any home.

For 3 flowers you will need:

4 rolls of toilet paper

1 egg carton

Pencil

PVA glue

Ruler

Stationery knife

Scissors

Acrylic paint

Brush

1.1 Paint all the cardboard cylinders left over from the toilet paper green and leave to dry.

1.2 Divide one of the cylinders into 3 equal parts.

1.3 Use a utility knife to make cuts along the lines.

1.4 Draw a line 1cm from the edge of the cylinder. Draw leaves around the cardboard "ring". Do this with all the parts.

1.5 Cut out the leaves as shown in the picture and you will have 3 small green “crowns”.

1.6 Bend all the leaves to the outside of the crown and cut it (see picture).

1.7 Prepare a carton for eggs. You will need to cut out 6 "cups" (2 for each flower). Do not cut through the middle of the package. You will need the square pieces that are in the middle of the package, between each egg cup. Take a look at the picture - you need to save 3 pieces of packaging for one flower.

1.8 For each flower you need to have 2 “cups” and 1 square, and one cup should be slightly smaller than the other.

1.9 Make cuts on two cups to get petals. Around the large cup, make cuts with scissors to the very bottom, and around the small cup, about 1 cm (see picture).

1.10 Open the petals and color them to your liking, both inside and outside.

1.11 You also need to color your squares.

1.12 Prepare 3 more green toilet paper cylinders. Draw 2 lines across each one, which should be 1 cm from the edges of the cylinder. Also draw lines that go along the cylinder (see picture).

1.13 Use a utility knife to make cuts along the lines that run along the cylinder. Do this on all three cylinders.

1.14 Carefully bend all the strips out of each cylinder to create a vase shape. This will be the stem of your flower.

1.15 It's time to collect flowers. For one flower you need: 1 large and 1 small cup with petals, 1 square, 1 green crown and 1 green stem.

1.16 Use glue to attach a green crown to the top of each stem. Also glue the square inside the small cup, which, in turn, needs to be glued to the large cup.

1.17 Glue the flower to the stem and you're done, you have a flower!

Making flowers with your own hands is, of course, a trend, but it originated... back in ancient times. From Ancient Greece and Ancient China, information has reached us about how the craft of creating artificial flowers developed. So, this type of manual labor is not just a newfangled hobby. By doing it, you are continuing the tradition of thousands of years. Translating the beauty of a flower into available material is not an easy task, but we have collected only simple and proven methods for you!

“Flowers: what to decorate with them”

Traditionally, flowers are placed in a vase, including artificial ones. The advantage is that nothing limits us in choosing a vase. This can be either a beautiful perfume bottle or a thread spool. In this article you will see a variety of examples.

From flowers you can make small bouquets and lush wreaths that hang on the door. And ornate garlands will decorate window openings, window sills, stair railings and flights, walls, balconies. They are equally relevant for the decor of the living room, bedroom, kitchen, nursery and bath. Necessary for decorating a bedside table and table setting.

Mostly, artificial flowers are made from paper - this is the most convenient and pliable material. In second place is fabric: thin silk, lace, or, conversely, thick felt, leather or tweed. In the article we have selected many master classes that will allow you to choose the method of making flowers with your own hands. Although, none of them are so difficult that you will have noticeable difficulties!

"Paper Flowers"

Paper (colored, plain, newspaper, hard, rough, glossy, shiny, etc.) will be useful to us not only for creating paintings with our own hands - making flowers out of it is as easy as shelling pears! Are we sure?

"Flowers from book pages"

  • The topic of crafts from book pages is inexhaustible! Typography gives the products a special charm, so that impeccable execution fades into the background. Therefore, forget about classic colored paper for a while and try to make a rose flower with your own hands as in the photo below. Remember that newsprint is not suitable here due to its thinness; you need a book or high-quality magazine page.

  • To make it more like real flowers, the very edges of the petals can be painted - with a spray or with heavily diluted watercolors.

  • Plain, richly colored paper in combination with book pages or sheet music also looks great. This handmade item will be a worthy decoration for a library or tea table.

  • Remember - the thicker the paper you choose, the wider your options for coloring flowers. It's easier to make them white initially and then add colors as needed. Acrylic or gouache works best for coloring - when working with them, your workpieces will not get wet or lose their shape.

"Colored paper"

Choose the simplest paper for making your own flowers yourself; you can also use any packaging material. The main thing is that it is not thick cardboard, it will be difficult to work with.

"Simple daisies"

  • Sometimes the simplest options look the most impressive. Even a child can make flowers, as in the illustration below. And they look very stylish!
  • First you need to cut out 5-6 heart-shaped petals from paper, that is, from a sheet folded in half. Please note that it is better to make the thin edge not sharp, but slightly rounded.
  • Then the petals are folded together and sewn or glued to a button. A flexible wire is also attached to the back side.
  • The resulting flower is inserted into a pre-decorated spool of thread. The easiest way to make such a “vase” original is to wrap it in colored paper or ribbon.
  • "Roses-candlesticks"

    • A delicate candlestick made of paper roses for your interior is made by analogy with the previous flowers and is attached to a flexible wire pulled into a circle. Create flowers of different sizes, and you will get this unusual decoration.

    "Flowers from baking molds"

    Take a closer look, do the bowls of these flowers remind you of anything? Well, cupcake tins, of course! To make these flowers with your own hands, you will need:

  • floral wire,
  • glue,
  • awl,
  • three or more paper forms.
  • The only caveat is that the molds must be of different sizes. We carefully pierce their base and place them on the wire, starting with the smallest one. We knead the mold with our fingers to give it a more elongated shape. We fit them tightly to each other, giving a slightly disheveled natural look. At the end of the work, drop a little glue onto a toothpick and fasten the layers together deep inside so that the upper part of the petals remains movable. Ready!

    To make it even more interesting, you can combine molds of different colors and patterns in your work.

    "Flower from the Card"

    In the article about DIY interior ideas, we talked about products made from geographical maps. If you liked it, then take note of this unusual example of making a rose. You can use a new atlas with bright glossy pages, or you can take an aged plain map.

    "Flowers for table setting"

    When buying ice cream, would you prefer a waffle cone or a paper cup? We vote for the horn - and we suggest you make an unusual decoration for table setting, which you can use on holidays and on weekdays. First, let's learn how to make the same beautiful flowers with your own hands!

    "We'll need it"

  • sheet of colored paper,
  • marker,
  • scissors.

  • Draw on a piece of paper the same irregularly shaped pattern as in the first photo. Cut it out, then roll it into a tube. We repeat the operation until we achieve the desired splendor of the flower. We fasten each circle of petals together with glue.

    Now that the technology for making the flower is known, we can move on. So, let's put it on the table:

    • small waffle cone,
    • stationery knife,
    • glue gun,
    • a small flower pot or other beautiful base,
    • several types of colored paper - yellow, red, pink, orange for flowers, green for leaves, striped for a horn.

    "Sequencing"

  • We cut out a cone from striped paper to wrap our horn in.
  • We secure it with double-sided tape.
  • We assemble a rose from paper according to the example above, insert it into the horn.
  • Cut out leaves from green paper.
  • We roll them around the pencil to give it a shape, and glue them to the paper wrapping the horn.
  • We take a thin wooden stick, insert it into the pot, and put our design with a flower on it.
  • That's all! These DIY flowers for decorating a room will brighten up the gloomiest and rainiest day, so don’t put off making them.

    "Flower garlands"

    What about really big flowers made by yourself? Let's create a garland that will be a key accessory for any holiday. Such an unusual thing simply cannot go unnoticed!

    “What is required and how is it done”

    • wrapping or corrugated paper in two colors,
    • thin wire,
    • pliers,
    • scissors.

  • Cut out 6-8 large petals from pink wrapping paper and thin strips from yellow.
  • We cut the strips of yellow paper into two parts, cutting off a small piece from the bottom of each. We roll this part into a ball - and we get a stamen!
  • We put the ball on a thin wire and wrap it with the remaining long strip. We make three of these for each flower.
  • We tie the stamens into a bundle, put them into large petals, give our model a shape and tighten it with thread.
  • We hang each flower on a separate fishing line and fix it on the wall or ceiling. Make 5-6 flowers - and you will have an unforgettable garland!

  • "Flowers made of thread and fabric"

    Working with fabric is a little more difficult than working with paper. But flowers made from it with your own hands also turn out more realistic. You don't need a lot of material to make a flower. This way, you can always wisely dispose of accumulated scraps.

    "Pompom Flowers"

    • Do you know how to make pompoms from wool yarn? If yes, then the manufacturing process is clear to you. If not, read on. And you will understand how to make flowers that look like roses or peonies in a vintage style.

    “Let’s get ready and get started”

  • a ball of thick pink or red threads,
  • fork,
  • scissors.
  • Wrap the thread around the fork as shown in the photo. This is approximately 50-60 revolutions. Cut a small piece of thread from the ball, pass it under the previously stretched thread and tie it into a knot, as in the second photo. Then remove the yarn from the fork and cut the loop on both sides. Cut off the excess yarn and shape the pompom into a ball shape. Then easily slide it onto a thin wire and place it in a beautiful jar.

    "Flowers-balls"

    • To make such lush flowers with your own hands for a room, as in the photo below, half an hour will be enough for you. All you need for this: plain fabric, preferably thin corrugated. The diameter of the ball will depend on the width of the piece of fabric; estimate it in advance. The rest is quite simple - we collect the textiles into an accordion along the short side, turning the rectangular ends into semicircular ones, cutting off the corners. Pull the strip tightly in the middle and fluff it into a ball. Ready!

    "Flower pendants"

    • For your baby's room you will need decorations that are as bright, safe, soft and non-toxic as possible and are difficult to tear or wrinkle. In addition, it is necessary that they are easy to wash and, if necessary, replace with new ones. Not an easy task! It’s easier to solve it yourself than to go to the store. The ideal option would be hand-made butterflies or flowers made from thick, pleasant-to-touch fabric. Traditionally, parents choose felt for this. You can easily sew or cut out anything you want from it, and be calm about the health and safety of your baby!

    "Applique flowers"

    Below we will describe three ways to decorate the interior with flowers through textiles. But these methods can also be used for furniture. For example, you can decorate curtains, bed linen, pillows, bedspreads, towels, canopies, etc. with homemade flowers.

    "For pillows"

    • Pleated fabric flowers in the interior can be used not only on their own, but also to decorate furniture, accessories, and textiles. In the photo you can see an example of a DIY pillow to which a huge fabric flower was sewn. Here you are limited only by your imagination, because this accessory can be pinned to a blanket, curtains, headboard, chair back - whatever your imagination takes you to!

    "For curtains"

    • The same applies to knitted flowers. We are used to seeing them only on clothes. But, by analogy with the previous ones, nothing prevents you from using them in the design of the room. For example, you can sew curtains with your own hands and strew them with artificial flowers to decorate the interior, as in the photo below. These are not elements of holiday decor, but part of everyday furnishings. If you want the flowers not to be too conspicuous, just make them from the same fabric as the curtains, as in the above example.

    "For bedspreads"

    • You can also make a replacement accessory that you can easily remove if you get tired of it. If your blanket is made of high-quality expensive fabric, but at the same time it looks quite boring, you will agree that you will not change it. This is where a knitted or sewn cape made from many small flowers will come to the rescue.

    It is done simply: circles of fabric with a floral print are folded and carefully ironed. The leaves are cut out of thick fabric, and veins are embroidered on them using a simple stitch. Then all the small flowers are sewn together into a long piece, and the leaves are sewn on both narrow edges. The cape is ready! You can decorate chairs and armchairs with the same products, and put a similar rug under the bed.

    "Combining"

    Paper or fabric flowers for interior decoration are a great material to combine with anything. Everything we described above can only be a blank, and you are free to add the final individual touches to the product yourself. Do you want to create a delicate fabric composition? Additionally, wrap the flower with a lace ribbon and trim it with beads. Need to spruce up your paper flower a little? Place a large artificial pearl in its center or drop a few rhinestones on the petals. Replace wire with natural wooden twigs, paint newspaper with gold spray, and create unusual perforations on leather flowers. In a word - create without limiting yourself in anything!

    Useful tips

    You can make a huge number of different colors from paper.

    And if you consider that paper can be of different types (plain, colored, thin, corrugated, etc.), then you can create countless bouquets of different shapes and colors.

    You can use paper flowers to decorate your interior, table, gifts, or simply give them to loved ones.

    Here are some very beautiful flowers that can be made using paper:

    How to make paper flowers with your own hands: use a coffee filter

    You will need:

    Coffee filters

    Flower wire

    Pliers

    Watercolor.

    Instead of filters, you can use corrugated paper (or any thin paper) in the shape of a circle.

    1. You will need 4-8 coffee filters per flower, depending on how fluffy you want each flower to be.

    2. Place all the filters in a pile, fold them in half, in half again, and in half again.

    3. Cut off the edges to shape the future petals. You can trim the edges with a wavy line, for example - experiment with patterns.

    4. Set aside half of the filters, and cut the other half a little more (by 4-5 cm) - the flower buds will look more realistic if the filters in the middle of the flower are a little smaller.

    5. Unroll all filters and place them on a flat surface (small shapes on top of large ones). Punch the wire from the bottom through the center of all the filters. Push the wire halfway through, bend it and push it through the paper again. Leave approximately 5-6mm between the two holes.

    Twist the wire from the bottom to secure it.

    6. Start squeezing the paper with your fingers, pushing it up and twisting it a little. Do this with each filter in turn.

    7. Wrap the wire around the base of the bud.

    8. Wrap the flower with green duct tape, starting from the base of the bud and ending with the end of the wire.

    The filters can be easily painted - they absorb paint perfectly. Multiple colors can be used.

    *You can paint the filters before starting the craft or after you have made the flowers.

    * Simply dilute watercolor or food coloring in water and dip the paper (flowers) into the paint.

    Simple paper flowers

    You will need:

    Thin colored paper (corrugated paper can be used)

    Wire

    Scissors

    1. Cut out three circles of different colors from colored paper - each circle has a diameter of 6 cm.

    2. Cut a piece of wire 20 cm long and bend it at one end into a circle shape (to create a stand).

    3. Cut out two small circles from yellow paper and glue them to the top and bottom of the future bud.

    4. Fold all the circles and make a hole in the middle, thread a wire through it. Make a small loop at the top of the flower from the end of the wire.

    The flower is ready. Make several of these flowers and you can decorate your holiday table with them.

    Paper flower (instructions): camellia

    Beautiful paper flowers: exotic Australian flowers

    You will need:

    Quilling strips

    Colored paper and scissors (can also be used as an alternative to quilling strips)

    Quilling tool or toothpick

    Scissors.

    1. Prepare paper quilling strips of different widths or cut these strips from colored paper.

    2. To make the leaves, cut them out of colored paper and fold them (see image).

    Colored paper.

    1. Cut a quarter circle out of construction paper to wrap around the cone.

    2. Wrap the paper around the cone and secure the ends with glue.

    3. Make a rose or other flower out of paper. To make a rose, you need to cut out several groups of petals from paper - each group has about 4 petals cut out in the shape of a heart or a quarter circle.

    4. Start gluing the petals in a checkerboard pattern around the skewer. Add a little glue to the edges of the cone and glue the bud to them.

    5. Cut out leaves from green paper and glue them to the cone. To give them shape, you can first wrap them around a pen or similar shaped object.

    * Any flower, artificial or natural, can be attached to the cone.

    DIY paper flowers (master class): garland

    You can make any flowers from paper or fabric and glue them to a thread. Here's one option:

    You will need:

    Colored paper (preferably thin)

    Scissors

    Thread or thin wire

    Thick thread

    PVA glue or for fabric.

    1. Cut out rectangles from thin colored paper and fold them into groups of 5 pieces. Choose the size of the rectangle yourself. In this example, their size is 20 cm x 10 cm.

    2. Fold a stack of 5 rectangles like an accordion.

    3. Tie in the center of the paper accordion with thread or wire.

    4. Round the ends of the workpiece.

    5. Open the bud by lifting and bending, right and left, the paper accordion. Closer to the center, bend the paper inside the bud.

    6. Make several similar parts - their number should be even. Next, glue 2 parts together to get a lush, large bud.

    7. Apply a little glue inside each flower and glue the flower to a thick thread or fishing line.

    Wait until the glue dries and you can decorate any interior with flowers.

    Colored paper flowers: peonies

    You can make peonies in a similar style, only for this you will need to use large sheets of paper and cut out rectangles of different sizes from them.

    You will need:

    Corrugated paper in several colors

    Paper clips

    Wire

    Scissors

    Paper flowers for beginners: flowering tree branch

    This is a very simple but incredibly beautiful spring craft.

    You will need:

    Thin paper

    Scissors

    Superglue or hot glue.

    To make beautiful paper flowers, you will need different types of paper, scissors and good instructions on how to make a paper flower. For example, one of the video lessons offered in our selection. No oral stories or drawings can replace videos - such master classes are understandable and can be easily repeated with your own hands.

    The art of making paper flowers is attractive to both adults and children. There are lessons that are simple enough for a child to master, and an adult can make a bouquet of flowers out of paper that will decorate the room for a long time. Choose a lesson that suits you, select the necessary materials and start creating.

    To make a paper rose, you will need a sheet of red paper, green paper for the leaves, and a skewer for the stem. And, of course, scissors and glue. A sheet of paper is marked into strips the width of a ruler, approximately 2.5 cm. Next, these strips are cut off from the sheet. Two strips should be enough for one rose. Each pair of strips is glued to each other.

    Next, the tape is bent at a corner and begins to wind, forming petals bent back. The end of the tape is glued - the rose is ready. For each rose, identical leaves are cut out of green paper. A skewer is glued into the middle of the rose, and leaves bent in half are also placed on it with glue.

    Video lesson:

    To make paper flowers with your own hands, we will need colored paper, scissors, pencil and glue. You will also need a round object, which is applied to a sheet of paper and outlined with a pencil. The resulting circle is cut out, then a spiral is cut out of it. Next, this entire spiral is wound around the pencil, starting from the outer edge.

    The resulting roll is glued on all sides and glued with its end to the round center of the spiral. If you now unravel the roll a little, it will look like a small rose. Slightly turn the edges of the spiral outward, so they will look even more like petals.

    Video lesson:

    To make a tulip from paper, you will need a sheet of red paper measuring 15 x 15 centimeters and a sheet of green paper measuring 15 x 8 cm. To make the tulip itself from a red sheet you need:

    • fold the sheet diagonally in two directions successively;
    • fold the sheet into a rectangle, also in two directions;
    • fold the triangle, bending its sides inward;
    • bend the edges of the resulting triangle.

    Further bends are better visible on the screen. The paper triangles are folded, tucked into each other, and eventually the edges of the corners are folded back to form tulip petals. A tube is rolled out of green paper, which will be the stem of the flower. Leaves are glued to it.

    Video lesson:

    To make flowers you will need sheets of green, pink and yellow paper, scissors and a stick of hard glue. Take a strip of green paper 2 cm wide and coat it with glue, after which it is rolled diagonally into a tube. This will be the stem of the flower. A strip of yellow paper is folded several times and small cuts are made on it.

    The strips between the cuts are folded to the side, and the entire yellow tape is wound around the stem. This is how the yellow stamens of the flower are obtained. From a square of pink paper measuring 6 x 6 cm, a small bag is formed with the edges bent outward - this is the flower petal itself. Leaves are cut out of green paper and glued to the stem.

    Video lesson:

    An interesting 3D postcard can be made from paper. When it opens, voluminous paper flowers unfold inside it. To make it you need a sheet of colored cardboard, seven paper squares measuring 9x9 cm, and, of course, scissors, glue and a felt-tip pen. Flowers are cut out from white paper. To do this, fold a square of paper three times diagonally.

    On the resulting small triangle, draw a semicircle and cut off the excess paper according to the markings. The result is a flower with wavy edges. We make seven of these flowers. One of the petals is cut out from each flower. Next, the flowers are painted, except for one petal adjacent to the cut out one. How to glue flowers is shown in the video.

    Video lesson:

    This is a very simple way to make beautiful flowers from colored paper. Roses can be any color, even if they are not found in nature. To make a rose, you need to take four paper squares and fold them diagonally three times. Make a semicircular cut in the resulting triangle and cut off the tip of the sharp top.

    Unfold the leaves that make eight-petalled rosettes. In the first rosette one petal is cut out, in the second - two, in the third - three and in the fourth half of the petals are cut off. Next, the edges of the cutouts are connected and glued together, forming three-dimensional structures. Cut out petals will also be used.

    Video lesson:

    To make large flowers from paper, you need to use five sheets of A4 paper, with which you need to do the following operations:

    • cut a square from each sheet;
    • fold the square diagonally and bend the corners of the resulting triangle to its apex;
    • straighten the bent corners;
    • The corners are folded several times, and then the structure is glued into a bag, inside of which there are several folds of paper.

    The bags are glued to each other, and you get a large lush flower with a beautiful center, into which you can glue a stem or hang it on a thread.

    Video lesson:

    To make a rose, you will use a red A4 sheet and part of a green sheet for a stem with leaves. We cut out four squares measuring 10 x 10 cm from red paper. Each square is folded diagonally, then again and again, that is, each one is folded three times. On the resulting triangle, mark the required petal shape with a pencil and cut it out using scissors according to the markings.

    The first triangle you cut out is the template for cutting out the rest. We unfold four eight-petal blanks. For the first, one petal is cut out, leaving a strip for gluing, for the second, two, for the third, three, and for the fourth, 4. On all blanks, the petals are curled.

    The blanks are glued together with the outer petals and become voluminous.

    The procedure for making paper daisies:

    • we wrap a strip of green paper around a toothpick to form a stem;
    • on a strip of yellow paper folded in four, make small cuts on both sides;
    • fold a strip of white paper and a cut strip of yellow paper like an accordion;
    • We tie the middle of the accordion with thread;
    • round the ends of the petals;
    • glue the accordion onto the stem and straighten the petals, which form a two-tier structure with a yellow insert in the middle.

    The origami paper flower is ready. By making several of these flowers, you will get a wonderful bouquet of bright and beautiful daisies.

    Video lesson:

    Having corrugated paper of different colors, you can make beautiful and lush flowers from corrugated paper, the creation sequence of which is shown in the video tutorial. A strip of several layers of paper is folded like an accordion so that a neat square is obtained.

    Two holes are pierced in its center with a needle, a wire is threaded through them and twisted. On the square, a compass is used to mark a regular circle along which a circle is cut. Small cuts are made along the perimeter, giving terry to future petals. Each layer of petals is crushed upward, resulting in a lush double flower.
