DIY refrigerator magnet for March 8th. Video on how to make green leaves

Hello, dear readers! The last month of winter has arrived - February, it is short, so it will fly by very quickly, and then March 8 is just around the corner. Therefore, today I will show you 8 (eight) kanzashi for March 8 with step-by-step photos and partly with video. This figure eight can be an excellent handmade gift or simply decorate your home. I tried mine on with the bottom ring on a light switch, it looks very cool

Last year I showed how to make a gift for March 8th with your own hands - it was in a wicker vase. You can look at this as an option for a gift. I was thinking that in this style you can decorate any number, and even for a birthday and hang it in the birthday boy’s room. Just choose a large format and decorate it, it will look very cool. And in order to make such an eight kanzashi we will need the following materials:

  • Thick cardboard
  • Compass (or number 8 template)
  • Satin ribbon 1.2 cm wide and 5 m long (this is an eight according to my measurements)
  • Pink and white satin ribbon 5 cm wide
  • Green satin ribbon 5 cm wide
  • Tychiki (I have gray ones)
  • Glue gun
  • Tweezers
  • Scissors
  • Candle
  • Soldering iron
  • Wooden ladybug for decoration
  • Glass panel or small piece of glass
  • Metal or wooden ruler (plastic is not allowed, it will melt)

8 (eight) kanzashi on March 8

So, first of all, we need to draw a figure eight on cardboard, we can do this in two ways:

  1. Using a compass (I hope none of you forgot how to use it)
  2. And the second way is simpler and faster, print a template from the Internet, which I successfully did.

I found cardboard at work, they just recently brought us some office supplies in a box, and the box itself served me well, it’s good that I didn’t throw it away right away, look at what kind of things you can make from ordinary cardboard boxes. I took cardboard from the same box when creating it. I cut the piece of cardboard I needed from the box, it was thick enough, just what I needed. I found a suitable figure eight template, printed it on plain paper and cut it out with scissors. All that remains is to transfer the template to cardboard and cut out the number 8 I need from the cardboard.

I’ll give the dimensions of my figures, maybe they will also be useful to someone, for example, those who will draw with a compass; not everyone has the opportunity to print ready-made templates. The height of the figure eight is 27 cm, the width of the small upper ring is 11.5 cm, the width of the lower large ring is 16 cm, the width of the number itself is 2.5 cm. All markings can be seen in the photo, if anyone does not understand what we are talking about.

Now we need a satin ribbon 1.2 cm wide. Of course, you can take a smaller width or a larger one; it was convenient for me to work with just such a ribbon. I bought it 5 meters and at first I thought it would be a lot, but in the end it turned out that it wasn’t even enough, but this can be fixed. The color I took was almost white with a slight pinkish tint, choose it to your taste. We need to wrap our cardboard figure with this tape.

You need to start winding from the top of the figure eight, we wind the tape with the front shiny side, first we use hot glue to secure the tape, and we begin to wind it tightly, slightly overlapping, from time to time I coated the tape on the back side with hot glue so that it would stick better, but this not every row, but after about five strips of tape.

In this way you need to wrap the entire number. At the very end, I was missing a little ribbon, but I covered this part with flowers and leaves, I didn’t bother buying a small piece, so even though I thought that I would even have some ribbon left, it turned out the other way around. Conclusion - it's better to buy more.

Now we need to decorate our number 8. There are so many options for decorations that there is always plenty to choose from, absolutely any flowers can be used, you can make a composition of flowers and berries, as in this one, you can decorate only with flowers, without leaves, the field for imagination is inexhaustible.

I decided to try to decorate with a flower, which I haven’t tried to do yet, it’s very simple, but it looks delicate and beautiful.

How to make an inverted kanzashi petal

We take a pink ribbon 5 cm wide, cut it into squares 5 by 5 cm and fold it as usual to make a sharp petal. First into a triangle, then again into a triangle and cut the lower part perpendicular to the edge of the petal by a few millimeters, grab it with tweezers, bring it to the candle and solder the cut edge. Carefully turn the petal inward. For one flower we need 5 of these inverted petals.

Inverted kanzashi petal video

Kanzashi flower made of inverted petals

We assemble the flower using hot glue, grease the side of the petal and apply the next petal. For one flower we will need 5 inverted kanzashi petals. We bend the stamens in half, twist the bottom, grease it with hot glue and insert it into the middle of the assembled flower. In total, I made three flowers using this technology, two pink and one white.

An eight is just enough for decoration. Flowers can be made from different colors of ribbon and change its size if you want to get a smaller flower. In addition to the blossoming flowers, I made white and pink buds. Making them is very simple; to do this, you just need to glue two inverted kanzashi petals together.

In the photo you can already see the flower buds glued to green leaves, I will show you how to make them below. I decided to make green leaves for the flowers, without them our craft for March 8 would not have looked so bright and fresh.

How to make green kanzashi leaves for flowers

To create green kanzashi leaves we need a soldering iron, I bought it in a store where everything costs 50 rubles, it heats up perfectly and does everything as it should. You will also need a glass board, I didn’t have one, I asked my husband to find me a small piece of glass. He found it and since it was dangerous to just work with it, since the edges were raw, so we wrapped the edges with tape and it turned out to be an excellent glass panel. We will make two types of green leaves. We take a green ribbon 5 cm wide, cut it into pieces of 5 by 10 cm. And from one such piece we will get two green leaves.

We fold the piece in half with the front side inward, at this stage we need a ruler, you can use a metal or wooden one, a plastic one will not work, because the soldering iron will melt it. We apply the ruler diagonally, look at the photos and videos and carefully draw it with a soldering iron to get a part, on the other side as well apply a ruler and cut off the leaf with a soldering iron, from the resulting two parts we form a leaf by collecting the lower part into an accordion, cut off the lower part with scissors, grab it with tweezers and solder it on a candle, these details are also in the video tutorial.

Green leaves made of satin ribbon

We will do the second version of green leaves almost the same, we will just change the direction of the soldering iron cut. We also cut pieces of tape 5 by 10 cm, fold them in half and use a ruler to measure the required width of the leaf and cut it with a soldering iron.

Here, no additional actions are required after cutting with a soldering iron, the leaf will be ready immediately, you just need to unfold it. It was in these leaves that I glued the buds that you saw in the photo above. I won’t tell you exactly the number of leaves, it all depends on your preferences, I needed to cover the place where there was not enough satin ribbon when wrapping the figure eight, that’s where I came from.

The most pleasant thing is, of course, decorating the eight kanzashi with ready-made flowers, buds and green leaves from a satin ribbon. I placed the flowers at the junction of the two number circles, so I covered my errors from the missing tape. Then I glued leaves with buds and just green leaves. I decided to decorate the top with two buds and green leaves, I glued a ladybug, I think it’s in the right place. On the reverse side you can glue a piece of satin ribbon, on which you can then hang this number on the wall. You can certainly decorate the figure eight, it will be gorgeous, I’m sure.

I think this is a nice DIY gift for March 8th, and there is the number 8, and there are flowers, and a piece of your soul is included - the complete set. I hope someone will like this idea and you will also make your own figure eight, you can decorate it in different ways and use different flowers, it will still be beautiful and festive!

With respect and love, Elena Kurbatova.

Eight kanzashi for March 8

The number 8 has long become a symbol of the onset of spring, the awakening of nature and a wonderful holiday - International Women's Day. And on the eve of a wonderful holiday at the beginning of spring, everyone is faced with choosing a gift for their beloved women, mothers, grandmothers, teachers, educators, etc. It allows you to realize any flower fantasy, and therefore it is logical to assume that using this technique to make a gift for March 8 is quite real. And you can just combine them in one gift a bright composition of ribbons and a figure eight silhouette. The base itself must be dense, hold its shape and not sag; you will need to wrap or stick tape on it. Cardboard is ideal. It's cheap and you can easily cut rings out of it.

The basis of the greeting panel:

  • - cardboard (two circles: one - 7 cm, the second - 9 cm);
  • - green satin ribbon 1 cm wide - select the length as you work, you need to wrap the ribbon around figure eight circles.

To create a bright bouquet you will need:

  • - 6 squares of red and orange satin ribbon 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • - 18 squares of yellow-gold satin ribbon 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • - 9 squares of green satin ribbon 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • — 5 transparent half-beads;
  • - 2 decorative insects.

The above layout of accessories will allow you to get a fairly large figure eight, which will become a souvenir for March 8 or a pendant (then you will need to add a gold cord to the above list). If your plans include modeling a brooch or decorating a hairband or hoop, reduce the size of the rings at your discretion and use fewer flowers. This accessory is simply irreplaceable if you are going to take part in a matinee or concert dedicated to International Women's Day.

Eight Kanzashi step by step

1. Prepare two rings for the greeting panel. Cut them out of paper. The cardboard must be very dense so that it does not bend (deform) in the finished product. Wrap a green satin ribbon 1 cm wide around the circles. Apply layers of winding evenly, at equal distances, leaving no gaps.

2. Glue both rings, overlapping each other in one place. Or you can take additional green tape and tape the parts to each other.

3. In the proposed version, the central bouquet consists of three golden yellow, one orange and one red flowers. Prepare 18 squares of the first tape and 6 squares of the second. The side of the blanks for all shades is 2.5 cm.

4. Model drops from the prepared squares. Place two opposite corners in a square by heating the satin with a flame and squeezing it with your fingers. Next, once again combine all the corners in the resulting triangle, solder again with fire. Pull the corners back, creating a V-shaped crease at the back, and the center strip will open up to reveal the crease.

5. For each flower you need to make 6 drops. The list of accessories also included green tape. You will need it for the leaves. To make them, the squares are bent in the same way, but after modeling the drops should be squeezed on both sides to make them narrower.

DIY paper flowers - more than 70 options
Paper flowers Do you want to learn how to make paper flowers with your own hands? You've come to the right place! 🙂 Hello...

In today's Master Class we would like to show and tell you how to make a magnet for March 8th with your own hands from satin ribbons and cardboard, while spending a minimum of money and time. In this article you will find a detailed description and diagram for making this souvenir.

To make a magnet from satin ribbons we will need the following materials:

— Blue satin ribbon 2 centimeters long;
— Karal or red satin ribbon 5 centimeters long;
— Green satin ribbon 5 centimeters long;
— White beads;
— Cardboard;
- Scissors;
— Hot glue gun;
— Magnet;
— Hairspray (super fixation).

Let's start making the magnet:

To begin, cut out a part in the shape of a number from a sheet of thick cardboard. You can draw by hand or use a compass.

After the part is ready, we cut out squares of 5 by 5 centimeters from the coral ribbon. We make petals from them. We will need 10 of these petals. We make leaves from green ribbon.

We glue the petals into a flower and attach them to the main part using a hot glue gun.

We also glue leaves to the part.

After that we decorate ours with beads. You can do this at your own discretion and use your imagination. You can also sprinkle the magnet with glitter.

When the part is almost ready, glue it to it. It is best to take it thin and not very heavy.

Our souvenir is ready, all that remains is to fix it with hairspray so that it can last longer and keep its shape.

In today's master class you learned how to make a refrigerator magnet from cardboard and satin ribbons. You can place this magnet on your refrigerator or give it to someone on March 8th.

To present a gift to a woman by March 8th must be beautiful, with warm words, compliments and a smile. In addition to traditional living bouquets, a beautiful and delicate panel for March 8 with kanzashi flowers will be an excellent addition to the gift. This product can be made on the basis of a regular computer CD using satin ribbons and other accessories for needlework.

Elegant flowers look elegant. They will decorate a gift box and become a souvenir - a symbol of spring mood. The bouquet consists of multi-colored buds, the basis of which is unusual kanzashi petals, which are worth learning how to make, because they look really elegant.

To complete the central bouquet of the composition we will need:

  • 22 pieces of cream-colored satin ribbon – squares 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • 22 pieces of menthol-colored satin ribbon – 2.5*2.5 cm squares;
  • 22 pieces of pink satin ribbon – squares 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • 9 pieces of green satin ribbon – squares 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • 12 pieces of green satin ribbon – rectangles 0.5*6.5 cm;
  • 6 double-sided stamens;
  • 2 green felt mugs with a diameter of 4 cm.

We recommend using a regular computer disk as the basis for the panel - it is round, dense, and its optimal size. You can wrap a thick layer of satin ribbon of white or soft blue, soft pink, menthol colors on the disk, and put a golden or blue tire around the edge. Regular cardboard will also work, but it must be very thick. Needlewomen can come up with their own version of making the base of the panel, based on the available materials.

Stages of creating a kanzashi panel:

The composition decorating the gift consists of three flowers: cream, menthol and pink. Each flower consists of three tiers of 4, 8 and 10 petals. To make special petals turned inside out, prepare squares with sides of 2.5 cm in the indicated shades.

Fold each of the small prepared squares into four-layer triangles along the diagonals. Next, curl the sharp corners in the resulting triangles into oval fragments. Cut the lower part into an even strip. And turn out the resulting standard sharp kanzashi petal, pulling the inner corner up with your finger. The stages of folding the tape are clearly demonstrated in the photo. For convenience, it is better to use tweezers.

Make three batches of different colored petals, 22 in each batch. Use the diagram shown based on the menthol piece as a visual aid.

Glue the petals into layers: for each color you need 3 layers with a different number of petals indicated earlier. Close the inner tier, consisting of four petals, in the form of a bud, and distribute the remaining two evenly around the circumference.

Glue the tiers together, forming graceful flowers reminiscent of chrysanthemums.

Rounded green droplet leaves are also modeled according to a simple pattern, illustrated in the photo. First, diamonds are formed, which should be rounded and the central fold highlighted.

Make oblong leaves with a fold in the center. Combine three leaves into a shamrock, at this stage use glue.

Glue three flowers onto the green felt base in a circle at a slight angle.

Insert sprigs of triple green petals between the flowers.

Glue the stamens to the bottom of the felt, also distributing them around the circumference.

Form neat droplets from thin green strips. Glue the leaves of the second layer onto the second prepared felt base.

First, distribute 8 petals evenly in a circle.

Then glue the remaining 8 between them.

The bouquet and the base with leaves are the two main details of the gift.

The gift for International Women's Day is ready. It looks rich and will definitely please the girl for whom it is intended. This decoration can also be made in the form of any type of hairpin: a headband, a hoop, an elastic band or a crocodile clip.

For the wonderful holiday of March 8, you need to select floral-themed gifts. On this day it is customary to congratulate women. And they, as you know, love bouquets. A figure eight of kanzashi satin ribbons is an excellent souvenir, a spring accessory that any representative of the fairer sex will appreciate.

If you are faced with the problem of a gift for a teacher or teacher, girlfriend or girlfriend, mother or grandmother, use the recommendations given. You can make a beautiful and delicate figure eight from satin ribbons, and decorate the accessory with spring flowers, such as snowdrops.

To repeat the spring fantasy you will need:

  • thick cardboard and a red satin ribbon for decorating it, 1 cm wide. The length of the ribbon strip is 3.5 meters;
  • gold beads on a thread or splint;
  • glue, compass, scissors.
To create delicate snowdrops:
  • 42 pieces of white satin ribbon - 1.2*2.5 cm;
  • 21 pieces of green satin ribbon - 1.2*2.5 cm;
  • 14 double-sided yellow stamens (2 pieces for each flower);
  • 8 double-sided green stamens (for the overall composition).
For the bow:
  • 2 pieces of purple ribbon - 2.5*5 cm;
  • 5 pieces of gold brocade (2 pieces for a bow, 1 piece for braiding the middle, 2 pieces for tails) - 0.5*5 cm;
  • 2 pieces of purple ribbon (for batik tails) -0.5*5 cm.

Stages of making kanzashi crafts for March 8:

Using a compass, any round objects, or just freehand, draw rings on the cardboard. Cut them out. To make the center holes, use either very small nail scissors or a utility knife. It is better to make a figure eight from individual circles, so that in the future it will be convenient to cover the cardboard with an even satin layer.

Wrap red ribbon tightly around the prepared rings. One ring should be slightly smaller than the other or identical.

Glue the two pieces together to form a number 8.

Also, additionally, the red rings of the central base can be decorated along the contour with beads on a thread or stripes of a golden tire. Stick on the border to make the figure eight shine.

Next, move on to the painstaking work of creating very delicate small snowdrop flowers. Take pieces of white tape for the petals, green tape for the sepals, and stamens with yellow heads for the center. Round the white stripes with small scissors on one side, and on the opposite side, gather a fold. Do the same with the green stripes, but do not round the segments, but cut them with a corner. Collect the stamens into bouquets (4 heads each). Repeat these operations with all white and green stripes and yellow stamens.

Glue 6 white petals into a snowdrop head. Connect two double-sided stamens with glue, glue 3 white petals on them, then in a checkerboard pattern - the remaining three. Stepping back a little, glue the green petals, also in a checkerboard pattern. The yellow balls should only be slightly visible from under the white petals.

Make 7 identical snowdrop flowers.

Start gluing the buds into a spikelet in a figure of eight, decorating with green stamens. Start at the top ring and work your way down, making a graceful curl.

Glue all 7 buds and green stamens.

When the flowering spikelet is ready, glue a bow. Prepare wide purple stripes of satin and thin golden brocade. Apply gold to the center of the satin.

Bring the ends of the ribbon together, leaving the wrong side inside. Singe and glue. Prepare a thin golden brocade strip to decorate the central part.

Braid the middle of the bow. Create a double ponytail using thin purple and gold pieces.
