Chainaya. Tea & Cocktails

Opening hours: Tue. - Thu: 18:00–01:00, Fri. - Sat: 18:00–03:00

Average check: 1,500 rubles

One of the oldest and most respected bars in the city, which is still accessible only by calling in advance or meeting in person. Finding a bar the first time is difficult - you need to look for an inconspicuous door in the courtyard without a sign. Inside, there's a dark, opium-style interior, craft cocktails, and a small menu of Chinese food like noodles, wasabi shrimp, and gyoza.

Santo Spirito

A semi-secret bar in the basement of Haggis Pub & Kitchen. A tiny room reminiscent of the same room from Lynch's Twin Peaks - black and white floor, red velvet, candles and a bar counter. Irina Golubeva, who has managed to become one of the main figures in Moscow bar life, is responsible for drinks at Santo Spirito. There is no cocktail menu as such - to order a drink, it’s easier to chat with the bartender and explain your preferences. It is better to get into the bar by calling in advance, but this is due more to the small size of the room than to excessive secrecy.

"Head"

A cheerful and noisy bar under the Moroccan restaurant “Tajin” was opened by three friends. One of them, Nikolai Volotov, known to many for his work at Strelka, took the post of head bartender at Golov. The cocktail menu is updated regularly; In addition to signature drinks, the bar offers classics, cider, beer, wine and spirits. On weekends, the Head hosts DJs, and the bar is easy to find by the noisy crowd standing at the entrance. In general, “Golova” has occupied an empty niche between snobbish clubs and overly youthful bars - there is everything here in moderation, so it turns out to be fun and relaxed.

"Fahrenheit"

Despite the fact that Fahrenheit is primarily a restaurant, in the evenings people from all over the city flock to the bar for cocktails. Denis Kryazhev, one of the best bartenders in the city, who collaborates with several other Dellos restaurants, is in charge of the bar here. In addition to signature cocktails, which are regularly updated, Fahrenheit is famous for the frequent tours of world-famous bartenders, which are definitely worth a special visit.

"Antique Boutique & Bar"

A completely atypical place for Moscow - a quiet antique store with its own kitchen and bar. Kenan Assab is responsible for the drinks here; they can prepare anything from classics to impromptu cocktails. “Antikvarny” also has a small menu, but the main beauty of local cuisine is that they can create any dish at the guest’s request if they have the right ingredients for it. You should come for an early dinner or after a hard day at work - it’s always calm and quiet here, just like being a guest.

"Water"

Perhaps one of the most beautiful bars in the city, opened by Vitaly Bgantsev and Irina Golubeva. Finding “Voda” the first time is not easy; you will have to wander a little through the winding courtyards of Petrovka until you find the right door, without a sign, of course. Although the bar does not position itself as a speakeasy, you can still get into it only by calling in advance. The first floor resembles a bright alchemist's laboratory, while the second floor looks more like a relaxed English club. The bottles in the bar are devoid of branding and there is no bar card, but they prepare many signature cocktails, including the beloved rhubarb fizz.

Public

A small but main speakeasy bar in the city, hiding under the Iskra cafe on Pokrovka. A call before visiting is mandatory - crashing in with four people even during the week is not at all an option. There is no cocktail menu at Public; the drink is prepared after finding out the guest’s preferences. Overall an ideal option for the evening.

"Box"

The small bar under the Tekhnikum restaurant is ruled by bartender Evgeniy Shashin. The specialty of the bar is distillates, which are made from anything, and white Negroni. Almost all drinks in a bar are clear, and most often colorless, so the taste of the drink is usually unexpected. The cocktail menu includes a dozen signature cocktails, as well as strong alcohol. Food is not served as a matter of principle, but you can always eat in the restaurant on the floor above.

Molon Lave Bar

The just opened Greek bar of Samson Moisidis and Alexei Karolidis, owners of the restaurant of the same name on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya. The cocktail menu was divided into three sections: “Logos”, “Eros” and “Paphos”. There are three signature cocktails in each section, and the bar also serves classics and wine. For drinks you can always take sets of appetizers, meze, main course and desserts. In general, another must-see place on the city map.

Mitzva Bar

A decent bar on Pyatnitskaya with good cocktails and food. In addition to the classics, the bar has many signature cocktails, lemonades, as well as wine and spirits. On weekends, parties are held here, world-class bartenders are periodically brought on tour, and in the summer they build a small veranda. If you find yourself in this area, then you should definitely come here for good drinks.

"Klava"

An unsinkable bar on Patriarch's Street, which only gets more fun from year to year. If you want to drink in silence and have a heart-to-heart conversation, then Klava is definitely not for you. Here you can get drunk into oblivion on a weekday, accidentally break a crystal glass while dancing and loudly sing along to the most forbidden tracks of Russian pop music.

"Chiho's Apartment"

A small underground bar in the basement of the Chiho noodle shop appeared after a fire broke out in the eatery. Kenan Assab was invited to set up a bar here; there are ten signature cocktails on the menu, as well as strong alcohol. The bar is designed to look like an old Chinese apartment from the 1980s, and it's so bad it's great. Antique furniture, a large aquarium, teaware and lights dimmed until dark - ideal for those who want to avoid being found.

Saxon + Parole

Large restaurant with a small but very efficient bar. You don't have to go to Saxon for dinner, but it's worth stopping by for a cocktail. The bar menu is very large and is constantly updated with seasonal new items. In addition to signature cocktails, they make excellent classics, as well as wine and spirits.

Berlin Bar

A small bar in the Mayakovskaya area is open only three days a week. Parties are held here on Fridays and Saturdays, but on Thursdays you can stop by for a quieter evening cocktail. There is also food in the bar, and it is quite sophisticated: grapefruit tartare, duck breast and cheese plate. The interior of the bar is decent, the cocktails are appropriate. In general, a good bar for friends and strangers.

"Shroedinger `s cat"

Another bar that is very difficult to find, but there are no random people here. “Schrödinger’s Cat” is quite small; people love it mainly for its intimacy and unusual presentation of cocktails. If you want to escape from the snobbish public of Bolshaya Dmitrovka, then turning into the courtyard and looking for a metal cat on the visor is your option.
